1. New Geolocation Crawls
Our PAGE Inspector auditor is a comprehensive solution to continuously monitor website privacy risks across multiple locations – USA, EU, Asia. We have now added three new locations to provide you with more control:
- London – Although the UK still remains closely aligned to the EU, adding London allows you to verify any difference your website may apply as the UK diverges its privacy laws.
- Frankfurt – Germany has some of the strictest interpretation of privacy laws in Europe. This option allows you to test your site against this specific location.
- California – This state has some of the strongest privacy laws in the US. You can now test this against our existing east coast (Virginia) location.
The PAGE Inspector simulates a real user session from the geolocation you select. I deliberately emphasise “user session” because many tracker scripts will not transmit data, or set cookies, unless they detect a page load is part of a continuous user session.
Choose the geolocation that reflects your website’s target audience and therefore the privacy regulations you are auditing against. Companies serving multiple locations often vary how their website works based on where a visitor connects from. For example, a visitor from Germany may have different pixel and cookie controls applied, compared to a visitor from the USA. If that is the case, create a separate project for each location.
